Download AudioX 0.9.3
1,173 KB, .Zip – Requires .NET 3.5

AudioX is a small, but powerful application used to convert songs between audio formats.  It handles simple, one-off conversions, or can be used to re-encode or cross encode your entire music collection.
AudioX - Freeware Audio Encoder
Primarily built to cross encode miscellaneous Monkey’s Audio files in my audio collection into Flac files which I prefer, the application has evolved to handle much more.

Essentially serving as a front end to several audio encoders, AudioX can not only cross encode audio between lossless formats but it can also convert your lossless music into portable audio player-friendly formats including MP3 and AAC.

AudioX is very lightweight, but also robust, allowing the user to change tags on the fly, add and remove album artwork, and more.

As of version 0.9.3, AudioX offers the following features:

  • Support for Flac, Ape (Monkey’s Audio), AAC, MP3, and WAV Audio files
  • One-click encoding to multiple output formats
  • Multi-threaded conversions – you choose how many simultaneous conversions will take place at once in order to take full advantage of dual and quad-core processors
  • Intuitive drag and drop interface with recursive folder support
  • On the fly tag editing allows for the changing of tags solely within AudioX, leaving your source files untouched (includes album artwork)
  • Permanent tag editing allows tags to be written the source files (includes album artwork)
  • Album artwork inheritance – artwork can be automatically copied from source files to output files
  • Full control over encoder settings – specify bitrates, output folders, and file naming conventions for each of the output formats independently
  • Automatic update notification – AudioX will automatically check for application updates so you always have the latest version at your fingertips

Updates to the software can always be found on this page.  I can usually be found in the Team Hack-a-Day Chat Room, but feel free to leave comments.

Many thanks to Team Hack-a-Day member RaZ0R for the application logo and icons!
